Camellia tending

Location:

sheltered from the wind, no extreme sunny position, some shade is advantageous (e. g. shifting shade)

Soil:

loose humus soil, slightly sour

Planting:

according to the kind of soil, dig up a hole 2 - 4 times the size of the rootball. Put the Camellia into the hole (prepared with peat), fill up with a mixture of soil and peat, press on and water.

Time for planting:

planting in spring is particularly suitable.

Protection in winter:

in a very cold winter use brushwood of pine, no plastic wrap. In frosty weather protect the plants from winter sun and cover the ground in the range of the roots with foliage. The roots of plants in buckets should not freeze completely.
